‘Auana is a Hawaiian word meaning “to wander” or “veer off the beaten path.” The title reflects the sense of adventure the show embodies, guiding audiences through Hawai‘i’s stories and cultural landscapes while merging tradition with Cirque du Soleil’s signature artistic flair.

‘Auana is a breathtaking fusion of Cirque du Soleil’s world-renowned artistry and the profound stories, or mo‘olelo, of Hawaii. Through awe-inspiring acrobatics, mesmerizing hula, and captivating music, this one-of-a-kind production honors the deep connection to the land and the people of these islands. The compelling narrative of ‘Auana unfolds across eight chapters, inspired by the mo‘olelo (stories) of Hawaii—from the Polynesian migration to the “golden age of tourism.” Each act honors a deep connection to the āina (land), celebrating Hawaii’s rich heritage and cultural traditions.

The essence of ‘Auana is deeply rooted in the Native Hawaiian appreciation of the islands' stunning landscapes. This inspiration comes to life through vibrant colors, diverse textures, immersive projections, and captivating sounds. This groundbreaking production brings new energy to Waikiki at the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber hotel, featuring a custom-designed, intimate theater with seating for 784 guests.

OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group have teamed up to bring Kama‘āina (local residents) and visitors a bespoke new show, exclusive to Hawai‘i. From Hawaiian art and photographs decking the walls to artisan eats and locally made beer, the hotel immerses you in the spirit of Waikiki.
